He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Hewitt II and Elizabeth Grisham; and his brother Charles Hewitt III. He is survived by : his wife Kathryn Hewitt; his children, Kristi Hatfield (Darrell), Darin Hewitt (Dana McBee), Ken Hewitt (Naomi) and David Hewitt; his grandchildren, Jesse Hatfield, Nicholas, Marissa Hewitt, Jacqueline, Austin Middleton and Gregory Hewitt; his great grandchild Luka Hewitt; and his sister Anna Gary Collier.
