He was predeceased by: his parents, Iris H. Johnston and Jerry Lee Smith; his stepfather James P. Johnston; and his grandparents, Louise, Emory Gay Hobbs, Lilly Mae and Otis Smith.
He is survived by: his caregiver Alice Plauche. He is also survived by several cousins and many friends.
