She was predeceased by: her parents, Remer Sirmans and Nancy Sirmans; and her sisters, Glenna Robert and Alice Blaum. She is survived by: her husband Walter Akerman; her daughter Kelle Green Kyle; her sisters, Jean Fielding and Beverly Ridley; and her grandchildren, Kaiden and Karter Wharff. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
