Andrea Carey Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Andrea Carey of Pensacola, Florida, who passed away on May 25, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Stofer and Marie Stofer; and her husband Dan Carey. She is survived by: her brother Gene Stofer; her children, Brian Carey, Elaine Carey (Javier Alvarez Isasi) and Erin Carey (Richard Butler); and her grandchildren, Lucas, Xavier and Roardan. She is also survived by her family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you recognize Andi's commitment to service and advocacy in healthcare that is rooted in the values of a just world for the poor, the sick, and the uneducated. Please make a memorial contribution to the Andrea M. Stofer Carey '61 Endowed Scholarship at Mount St. Mary's Academy that continues to empower future generations of bilingual and bicultural women pursuing careers in nursing and healthcare, following in Andi's footsteps as a compassionate, skilled leader.
