He was predeceased by: his wife Claudine "Deena" McCurdy Nelson; his daughter Tina Marie Nelson; his parents, Robert Nelson and Anna Nelson; his children, Kenneth Berrian, Marla and Laura; and his granddaughters, Heather and Terry.

He is survived by: his daughter Sherrie Flowers (Kenneth); his granddaughter Sondra McGinley (John); his great grandchild Meagan McGinley; his sister Carolyn Stiegman (Don); his niece Christy; his nephew Matt (Autumn); his great-nieces, Karen, Sheila (Larry), Susan, Mary (Ronnie) and Caryn (Tim); his great-nephew Bobby (Julia); his sons-in-law, Larry and Carl; and his friend Tony (Brenda).

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice Pensacola.
