He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyrus Matthew Gavin and Amelia Elizabeth Gavin (Barrow); his wife Jacqueline'Jackie'Delores Gavin (Coleman); his siblings, Wilma'Red', Hannah Jonas, Zelda Brunnel, Marilyn Elizabeth, Joan'Joyce'Jocelyn, Cyrus Waylon and Raymond Colledge; and his close friend Bill'Amos'Spear.
He is survived by: his children, John Steven'Sam'Gavin (Lois Ann) and Lisa Elaine Gavin (Rob Wacker); his godson David Yates; his granddaughter Kianna Yates Smith (Ryne); his great grandchildren, Maisie and Liam Smith; his brothers, Norman Edward Gavin (Ann), Eudon Wilmer Gavin and Dale Levant Gavin; his siblings' children, Shane, Millie and Dalton Volesky; his friend Peachy Keen; and his caregivers, Jesse, Jan, Tony, Samantha, Karen, Whitney, Candi, Aide Keairra, Chaplain Keith and Tricia.
