She was predeceased by: her parents, Dozier King and Bertha Steadham; her husband Max Lassiter of Atmore, Alabama; her stepfather Clyde Steadham; and her friend Chipley Clopton.

She is survived by: her siblings, John Steadham and Sharon Maddow of Atmore, Alabama.; and her children, Mike Lassiter (Peggy) of Monroe, Georgia, Pat Lassiter (Nancy) of Cantonment, Florida, Janet Connor of Franklin, Tennessee and Barry Lassiter (Kim) of Jacksonville, Florida.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
