She was predeceased by: her parents, Isacc Bennett and Louise Stansberry Bennett; her husband Velorus Shirkey; her brothers, Isaac and Jay Bennett; and her friend Flaudie Gregory.
She is survived by: her children, Deya Shirkey and Kerry Shirkey; her grandsons, Levi Shirkey, Luke Shirkey, Jay Shirkey and Will Hogan; and her siblings, Jerry Bennett, Herb Bennett and Nonie Cotton. She is also survived by many extended family members, nieces and nephews and dear friends.
