Opal Mae Johnson Obituary

We announce the death of Opal Mae Johnson (Pensacola, Florida), who passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 87. Opal will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emily Alice Horn Pitts and William Dewey Pitts; her husband William Ronald Johnson; her daughter Rebecca Penton Cardona; her grandson William Adam Aslanian; her stepdaughter Rhea Johnson; and her siblings, Paul Edward Pitts (Anita), William Thomas Pitts, Robert Colin Pitts, Wendell Graves Pitts, Danielly Nixon Pitts, Gary Dewey Pitts (Veatrice), James Quinton Pitts, Sara Jo Horne, Freda Alice Butler Horne, Emily June Boxx and Doris Yvonne Boutwell.

She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Penton Kelley (Gene) and Brenda Penton Revill (Ray); her son-in-law Mark Cardona; her sister Elaine Pitts Wiggins (Marvin); her grandchildren, William Shannon DeSpain, Brigette Ann Robinson (Ronald), Raymond Stacey DeSpain (Michelle) and Claude Marc; her stepchildren, Chris Johnson and Kimberly Johnson; and her pet Holly. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
