john racoosin wrote a sympathy message

“Sincere condolences for your loss. I was saddened to hear of Steve's passing. My name is John Racoosin ([email protected]), and I was the platoon commander for the UDT-12 platoon that Steve served in for his first deployment, in 1982. Steve was a wonderful man, a terrific sailor, and an excellent Teammate. I remember him well, and am very sorry to hear he has passed. It sounds like he led a wonderful life, and I am sure he was a beloved member of his family and community.”
