We announce the death of Stuart Wait Duerstock of Pensacola, Florida, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 88. Stuart will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Stuart will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Stuart’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Duerstock and Dolores Duerstock; his brother David Duerstock; and his son Nathaniel Clay Duerstock. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ingram Duerstock; and his children, Robert Duerstock of Hernando, MS, Judith Claire Birmann of Pensacola, FL, Elizabeth Blain Brady of Asheville, NC and Matthew Duerstock (Hayley) of Asheville, NC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Pensacola Christian College - Taylor Chapel (115 St John St, Pensacola, FL 32503). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
