We announce the death of Dorothy Stephens of Perry, Florida, born in Steinhatchee, Florida, who passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 69. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Caprus Land and Billie June Land; her stepfather Oliver Knight; and her siblings, Barbarann Land, Margurite Sphaler and Marvin Land.
She is survived by: her husband Johnnie "Winky" Stephens; her children, Angela Haddock (Brandon) and John Stephens (Jessica); her grandchildren, Colby, Katelyn, Kaidyn and Kinley; and her siblings, Elaine Williams (David), Fronda Sharp, Brenda Richardson (Ronnie), Carol Knight (John) and Ricky Land (Wendy). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Big Bend Hospice or the Florida Baptist Children's Home. Donations may be made by check payable to Athena Baptist Church, with the designated ministry noted in the memo line.
