She was predeceased by: her parents, James Johnson and Lettie Johnson; her children, Lettie Teque, Patti Driggers and Cecil "C. D." Norris, Jr.; and her siblings, Curtis Johnson, Alene Turner, Myrtle Johnson, Willadeen Johnson Patterson, Annette Lashley and Idalu Brownsword.
She is survived by: her husband Grover Turk, Jr.; her children, Laura Young, Violet Colson (Sam), Richard Norris and James "J. L." Norris (Bunny); and her siblings, James Johnson, Jr., Earl Johnson, W. C. Johnson and Nina Johnson. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, and other extended family.
