He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Knowles and Dorothy Knowles; his brother Mack Knowles; his mother-in-law Iris Shiver; and his siblings-in-law, Judy, Lavada Shiver and Mike Lundy.

He is survived by: his sisters, Phyllis Doster, Rhonda Lundy and Opal Bembry (Buck). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
