She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Owens and Frances Owens; her brothers, Bob and Mike Owens; her daughter-in-law Patsy Slaughter; and her son Steve Slaughter.

She is survived by: her husband Rufus Slaughter; her sons, Randy Slaughter (Tori) and Benny Slaughter; her daughter-in-law Wendy Slaughter; her sister Carol Pickron; her sisters-in-law, Carol Owens and Connie Owens; her grandchildren, Charles, Reagan (Tyler), Rayne (Claudia), Luke (Shelby), Aucilla and Rhett; her great grandchildren, Ellie Rae, Truett, Tripp, Teigen and Tatum; and her nieces, Amy Hans (Tim), Ellen Karcsay (Robb) and Holly.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pisgah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Big Bend Hospice of Perry or Boyd United Methodist Church.
