He is survived by: his wife Debbie Shepherd; his daughters, Mary Kay (Frank Herbert), Diana June Howell and Robin Claxton; and his siblings, C. Faye Schneider and Olin Shepherd. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, as well as a host of aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.
