He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Slaughter and LJ Slaughter; his former wife Sue Slaughter; his son Steve Slaughter; his siblings, Lum, Ruben, Herman, Ralph Slaughter and Jeanette Slaughter Welch; and his daughter-in-law Patsy Slaughter.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Sue Owens; his sons, Randy Slaughter (Tori) and Benny Slaughter; his daughter-in-law Wendy Slaughter; his brother Pete Slaughter; his grandchildren, Charles, Reagan (Tyler), Rayne (Claudia), Luke (Shelby), Aucilla and Rhett; and his great grandchildren, Ellie Rae, Truett, Tripp, Teigen and Tatum.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pisgah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Big Bend Hospice of Perry or Boyd United Methodist Church.
