He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry DeJong and Ruth DeJong (Deane); his siblings, Jerry DeJong and Barbara Hauck; and his grandchild Caitlyn DeJong.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce DeJong (Gilmore); his children, Debbie DeJong of Bradenton, FL, Dirk DeJong (Jane) of Lighthouse Point, FL and John DeJong (Debbie) of Tampa, FL.; his stepdaughters, Susan Cliff (Joseph) of San Antonio, TX and Sharon Fishter of Vero Beach, FL.; his grandchildren, Douglas DeJong of Pompano Beach, FL, Allison Sorensen of Winter Park, FL, Cassidy Anderson (Austin) of Spanish Fort, AL and Celine DeJong of Ft. Myers, FL.; and his great grandchildren, Stella Sorensen, Cade Sorensen, Oakley Anderson and Brooks Anderson.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the John Knox Village Auditorium (651 SW 6th St, Pompano Beach, FL 33060).
