With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Duane George Smeryage (Pompano Beach, Florida), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 28, 2025 at the age of 76. He was predeceased by: his parents, Duane Everett and Julia Smeryage (Rupp). He is survived by: his spouse Gale B. Smeryage; his children, Laura Harms (Smeryage), Bevan Harms, Bonnie Smeryage, Colleen Smeryage, Peter and Jenna Smeryage; his siblings, Georgia Pottinger (George) and Steven Smeryage (Kim); and his grandchildren, Hannah Savitt (Harms), Clara Harris (Harms), Mia Harms, Sean Harms, Capri Park, Greta Harms, Samuel Harms, Eliza Harms, John Smeryage, Madeline Smeryage and Norah Savitt.
A wake will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Kraeer Funeral Home (200 W Copans Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33064). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Christ Community Church (901 E McNab Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33060). A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens (200 W Copans Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33064).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Duane's honor to Christ Community Church.
