She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Hays and Effie Hays; her husband Don; and her siblings, Eunice Brooks, Neita Caudle, Loma Horah, Joyce Ferguson, Oren Hays and JD Hays.

She is survived by: her children, Vicki Poole and Kelly Barrera (Gil); her grandchildren, Lyndsay Barrera and Colin Barrera (Harley); her great grandchild Ronny Rose Barrera; her sister-in-law Martha Brown; her nieces, Paula and Monica; her nephew Enrique; and her siblings, Irene Cantrell, Wayne Hays and Donnie Hays.
