It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Violet Irene Read of Port Charlotte, Florida, born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, who passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Smith and Amy Smith; her husband Russell W. Read; her children, Russell Jr. and Melissa; and her daughter-in-law Myra.
She is survived by: her son David Read of Washington, NJ; her daughter-in-law Terry Read of Illinois; and her grandchildren, Tammy, Russ III, Tina, Dave Jr., Jeremy, Monica, Tara, Steven and Valgry. She is also survived by 15 great- grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Violet's name to the Greenstone United Methodist Church.
