He was predeceased by: his parents, David H. Carter Sr. and Delena S. Carter; his former wife Althea D. Carter; and his siblings, David H. Carter Jr., Robert Carter and Cleo Rann.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Helms (Don) of Hampstead, NC, Wendy Taylor (Jim) of Clermont, FL, Donna Lamkin (Steve) of Guyton, GA, Janice Wilbanks (Jay) of South Daytona, FL and Greg Carter of South Daytona, FL.; his grandchildren, Jeff Helms, Matt Helms, Darcy McMenamin, Wesley Taylor, Brandon Lamkin, Jessica Cheely and Greg Lamkin; his sister Deanna Ford; and his close friend Georgia.
