He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ashby Simms, Sr. and I. O. Simms; and his siblings, Clara, Dorothy, Howard, Carl, Samuel, Laure and Roy Ashby Simms, Jr.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many very close friends.
