He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Leroy Dawson and Theresa Shackelford Dawson; his wife Gwendolyn Gathers Dawson; his children, Darion Dawson, Jr. (Chasity), Terrance Dawson, Tyrone Dawson (Devan), Shirley Larry (Ricky), Shareka Gainer (Ronald), Fanequa Larry, ShaQuize Dawson and Brenda Hamilton (Tyrone); his sisters, Helen Baker (Herman), Pastor Shirley Jenkins (Apostle Johnny) and Beverly Maddox; his uncle James Shackelford (Vera); his aunts, Verdale Shackelford and Exie Shackelford; and his goddaughters, Dray Sims and Tanean Malone. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
