She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph J. Bertolas; her parents, William G. Bodell and Margaret Bodell (Smith); and her son Joseph P. Bertolas. She is survived by: her daughters, Lynn (Tony Chimblo) and Dianne (Alan Burkhardt); her grandchildren, Cathryn, Courtney, Victoria, Anthony, Kristy, Kelsey, Laurel and Cassidy; her great grandchildren, Harlon, Haylen, Marcus and Ava Rose; and her sister Doris Bodell.

In lieu of flowers, contibutions in Madeline's memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
