He is survived by: his wife Margaret Davis; his daughter Kathleen Thaxter; his children-in-law, Russell Thaxter and Shannon Davis; and his grandchildren, Aiven, Reagan, Connor, Chloe, Charlie, Ryan, Hayley and Hannah.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a veterans' organization or educational scholarship fund of your choice, causes that were close to Richard's heart.
