With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barry Scott Gelfand of Punta Gorda, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 28, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Gelfand and Dorothy Gelfand (Chokler); his brother Warren; his niece Mandy Gelfand; and his in-law Anne Cohen.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce M. Gelfand of Punta Gorda; his children, Aaron Gelfand (Amy) of Round Rock, TX, Robyn Gelfand-Wiseman of Cooper City, FL and Diana Gelfand of Davie, FL; his sister-in-law Susan Cohen; his niece Hannah Clare; his brother Alan Gelfand (Michal) of Boynton Beach, FL; and his grandchildren, Lucca, Rocco, Zane, Harlyn, Torre and Mateo. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make donations to Temple Shalom in Port Charlotte, FL, or Altruistic Dog Rescue in Texas.
