It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettye Ann Young of Punta Gorda, Florida, born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on September 8, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph McCord and Pansye McCord; her siblings, Joseph McCord, Barbara Gibbs and Michael McCord, Sr.; and her son-in-law Dr. Donald Griggs.
She is survived by: her husband Royce; her children, Steven Johnson, Joseph Johnson (Diane), Patrice Griggs and Brian Johnson (Bridget); her sister Patricia Dalton; and her sister-in-law Sharon McCord. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
