He was predeceased by: his wife Marion; his son Larry Ortel (Desiree); and his parents, Karl J. Ortel and Mildred Ortel. He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Ortel (Mary) and Brian Ortel (Anita). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and is survived by 5 grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory (9400 Indian Spgs Cemetery, Punta Gorda, FL 33950).
