He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Lorraine Brett; his children, Ellen Brett and James Brett, Jr.; his stepchildren, Dan Sweeney, Regina Fenady and Jennifer Sweeney; his grandfather Jim; his parents, Frances Brett and William Brett; and his brother Bill. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hennessey Heights Funeral Home & Cremation Service (232 Kipp Ave, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the Maryrest Cemetery (770 Darlington Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Jim to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
