It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert LeRoy Lakins of Punta Gorda, Florida, who passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Lakins (Shelton) and Roy Lakins; and his siblings, Jackie Mulinex, Glenda Paciorek, Gary Lakins and Rhonda Lakins.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Lakins (Toole); his children, Kristine Streza (Michael), David Lakins and Justin Lakins (Maria); his grandchildren, Samantha Streza, Della Lakins and Declan Lakins; and his sisters, Joyce Pace and Dorothy Coker.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sarasota National Cemetery (9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241).
