Sigismund Auchinleck wrote a sympathy message

“I fished many, many times with the Captain, all over the east coast and the midwest. Besides being the best fisherman I ever knew.........truly possessed...........he was such an intelligent and sensitive soul.........a wonderful artist.........and so strong.........beating an addiction to alcohol and moving to the center of USA fishing..............I will always picture us jumping out of the truck at sunrise, casting for Blues after a twelve hour overnight ride from Cleveland to Buxton Point.”
