With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vena Joyce Gardner of Punta Gorda, Florida, who passed away on June 24, 2022 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald Q. Gardner; her parents, Lester A. Gerkin and Bertha M. Gerkin (Toliver); and her grandson Brock W. Clavadetscher. She is survived by: her former husband Homer W. Smith; and her children, Thomas W. (Tom), Smith (Sharon) of Moline, IL and Beverly Hendrickson (Darlene Sheffield). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, as well as many great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
