We announce the death of Ruther Pendleton of Quincy, Florida, who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 98. Ruther will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Ruther will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Ruther will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Ruther’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her mother Ruther Bryant Pendleton. She is survived by: her son Larry; her daughter-in-law Mary Bryant; and her grandchildren, Gayla Sanders (Pete), Minister Timothy Brown, Tracey Johnson (Curtis), Shedric Bryant (Antonita), Cedric Bryant, Ronnie Thomas, Brandon Bryant and Tyrishia Thomas. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Eight great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the New Zion AME Church (1197 Spooner Rd, Quincy, FL 32351). A wake will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. James A. M. E. Church (514 S 11th St, Quincy, FL 32351).
