Barbara (Smith) Benniefield Obituary
Minister Barbara Ann (Smith) Benniefield, age 67, was called to her heavenly eternal rest with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in Brandon, Florida with her loving husband by her side. She entered this world on Tuesday, September 2, 1952 born to the late Eddie Smith and the late Verdell (Smith) McCoy in Panama City, Florida both preceding her in death. She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law Willie Mae Benniefield, a son Christopher Benniefield, four brothers (John, Terry, Daniel, and Arthuree Smith) and a nephew, aunts & uncles.
Mrs. Benniefield dedicated her life to God at an early age attending Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida. She was a 1970 graduate of Rutherford High School. She later graduated with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Gulf Coast State College and accepted her calling as a Registered Nurse for over 35 years. Affectionately known as “Bambino” by her husband Willie whom she joined in Holy Matrimony on May 15, 1993 and served as a dutiful military wife for 27 years. Barbara was a faithful member at the Mount Calvary Deliverance Church in Tampa, Florida, where she answered the call to ministry on November 13, 2016 under the pastoral covering of her beloved Pastor Terrance Shaw, and where she served faithfully until God called her home into His eternal rest.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the heart of her husband MSgt (Retired) Willie Benniefield, Two Daughters, LinCherria Barnes & Shaneka Benniefield, Two Sons, Linward Barnes Jr. & Lionel Barnes, Grandchildren, DeSiree, JaMani, Kyana, Leah, DeDrinique (Noony), Lailah, Lionel Jr., Lathan, Lyric, A’Leya, and Andre Jr., Three Great-Grandchildren, Paris, Twins- Zion & Zuri, One Sister, Hazel (Gary) White, Three Brothers, Pete (Claudia) Smith, Charlie Smith, and Bill McCoy, One Aunt, Martha Owens, and One Uncle, Joseph (Liz) Owens and a host of other relatives and Loved Ones.
Mrs. Barbara Benniefield will be missed and her life will be celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Serenity Meadows Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, Florida 33578.
