He is survived by: his children, Steven Douglas Swindal and Shelby "Squigy" Swindal; the mother of his children Belinda Perez Swindal; his parents, Donald Garret Swindal (Wilma Swindal) and Connie Swindal Felice (Jerry Felice); his brothers, Tim Swindal (Sondra Swindal) and Shannon Swindal (Selina Swindal); his grandchildren, Kyler of Lilyana, JR and Kensley; and his close friend Wendy Osborne. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces and lifelong friends.
