Herminia Pimentel Obituary
Herminia N. Pimentel passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Camaguey, Cuba, she earned a BA degree, worked as a secretary and taught secretarial skills. Later she conducted in her home a neighborhood school, grades one through eight. In 1966, Herminia immigrated with her husband Ulises and family to Tampa.
She attended Hillsborough Community College and the University of South Florida, earning her second BA degree to teach English as a second language in local adult public high schools. Her life centered on her profession and family. She leaves behind four children: Gladys (Daniel Sr.) Alarcon, Belkys "Becky" (Glenn, deceased) Epperson, Juan U. (Cruz) Pimentel and Themys "Tammy" (Jerry) Skinner; seven grandchildren: Daniel II (Franny) Alarcon, Michael (Tracy) Alarcon, Aaron (Krystal) Epperson, Isaac Epperson, Juan E. (Marisela) Pimentel, Brandy (Lee) Hill and Veronica (Sam) Frost; great-grandchildren include: Daniel Ryan, Christina, Nicholas and Logan Alarcon, Christina Pimentel, Sienna Hill and Levi Epperson; and great-great-grandchild Leliana Alarcon.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Herminia Pimentel on Monday May 10 at 7-8 pm with visitation starting at 6 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview. Entombment will occur at there at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park Tuesday May 11 at 10 am.
