He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard and Rosemary (Lux); his son Jason; and his granddaughter Haylee. He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Harvey); his brother Dennis (Rosie); his children, Shannon Miltenberger (Bryan), Jeffrey (Chrissa) and Patrick (Krystal); and his grandchildren, Ryder, Lauren, Aidan, Anna Claire and Elijah.

He was a volunteer for many years with the Boy Scouts and PAWS Animal Charity.
