He was predeceased by : his siblings, Nathaniel Coley and Bertha Stone. He is survived by : his wife Ruby Coley; his daughters, Angela Knowles and Lisa Spann (Patrick Spann); his grandsons, Travon Edwards, Tye Edwards, DeAndre Edwards and Marcus Spann; his great grandchild Tia Marie Edwards; and his siblings, Walter Kendrick, Annie Ree Grimes (Leon Grimes) and Annie Laura Myrick (William Myrick). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
