It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bill Cochran (Rockledge, Florida), born in Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Shelton Cochran and Vera Naomi Hollingsworth; his siblings, Lucy Francis Cochran, Vera Jo Cochran and Edwin Henry Cochran (Mary Pauline Russell); and his grandson Bryant Jesse Lee Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Pauline Russell; his children, Warren Lee Cochran of Merritt Island, FL, Thomas Wayne Cochran of Oklahoma City, OK and Mary Elizabeth Cochran-Spencer (William Everett Spencer, Jr.) of Alachua, FL; and his grandchildren, Samantha, Chase, Joshua, Chara, Jesse, Wesley, Erik and Brinnon. He is also survived by twenty-six great grandchildren.
His photo-documentation of the native people was excellent enough that the Korean government welcomed his slides donation to their cultural museum where it is permanently archived.
