She was predeceased by : her husband Herbert Herman Raedler; her parents, Kurt Birr and Gertrud Kiefer; and her brothers, Joachim and Axel Birr.

She is survived by : her siblings, Irene Quilleux and Bernd Birr; her son John Thompson; and her grandchildren, Riley and Rory Thompson.
