He was predeceased by : his parents, John Elko and Anna Elko (Krall); and his siblings, Nicholas Elko, Michael Elko (Linda) and Ruth Hegland (Swede).

He is survived by : his daughter Cara A. Giesen (Elko); his wife Barbara A. Elko (Booher); his siblings, John Elko (Betty), Donald Elko (Karen), Bernice Knipling and Rose Elko; his sister-in-law Maria Elko (Nick); his grandchildren, Megan L. Shahlamian (Bryan) and Chad A. Giesen; and his great grandchildren, Addison and Brynlee Shahlamian. He is also survived by 20 nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Florida Memorial (5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
