She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Model and Rose Model. She is survived by: her brothers, Murray, Kenny and Larry; her husband Morton Orenstein; her children, Jill and Brian; her grandchildren, Matthew, Christian and Hunter; and her great grandchild Scarlett.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer's Association, in memory of Helen and in support of the fight against dementia—a battle she faced with strength and grace in her final years.
