She was predeceased by : her parents, Oskar Biel and Klara Biel; her brother Geisbert; her husband Guenter Ludewig; her son Norbert Ludewig (Patricia); and her great-grandparent Norbert.

She is survived by : her son Peter (Rocio); her grandsons, Christopher, Alex and Andrew Ludewig; and her daughter Monika (Joseph Bradley).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Renate's name may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church, or to St. Joseph-St. Thomas Catholic Church.
