She was predeceased by: her husband Julio Aponte; her mother Dolores; her aunt Raquel; her uncle Wayne; her sisters-in-law, Emma (Benjamin) and Lydia (Frank); and her sister Marisol.
She is survived by: her son Michael; her daughter-in-law Marisol; her siblings-in-law, Elba and Leonardo; her niece Janice (Antonio); her great-nieces, Hailey and Gabriella; her nibling Ivelise (John); her great-nieces, Brianna and Catalina; her nephew Juan (Dora); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Elizabeth, Alexander and Aleeyah; her nieces and nephews, Melanie, Christopher, Kelvin, Harvey, Melvin, Arlene, Kenny, Elba, Maribel, Josue and Griselle; her siblings, Margarita, Eduardo, Salma, Juan Carlo, Julio, Isabel and Jorge; and her cousins, Magali, Elizabeth and Karinna.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sara's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
