He is survived by: his wife Katie Merritt Smart; his children, Elizabeth Smart Kugler (Jeffrey Kugler) and David Robertson Smart III (Elizabeth Alicea Smart); his grandchildren, Preston, Isabella, Lauren, Peyton and David IV; his nephew Wayne C. Barr (Carol); his great-niece Keri Henley; and his great-nephew Christopher Barr.
