He was predeceased by: his former wife Lorraine Sherer. He is survived by: his wife Amy Benham; his daughter Lisa Allen (Jon); his grandchildren, Ivy and Maxine; his son Richard Sherer, Jr. (Rachel); his grandchild Addison; and his sisters, Judy Sherer and Jeanne Brown (Bob). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation in his memory, an organization that he strongly supported.
