He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Oakes and Harry Oakes; his sister Chris Oakes; his mother-in-law Stella Gilliam; and his sister-in-law Freida Wright.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie; and his children, Jay Oakes (Christina) and Reagan Oakes. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Moultrie Baptist Church (3699 US-1, St. Augustine, FL 32086).
