He is survived by: his wife Shay Fontana of St. Augustine; his daughters, Erika Fontana (Michael) of St. Augustine and Laura Fontana (Matteo) of Eugene, Oregon; his sister Evelyne "Evi" Delaca of Switzerland; his sister-in-law Elsa Fontana of Switzerland; and his brother Francesco Fontana of Miami.

The couple's contributions to Haiti included the construction of a church and a school that provided daily meals to children.
