He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Mensinger Smoot; his children, Katrina Smoot Swartz (late Allen Michael Swartz) of Hampstead, NC, Robert C. Smoot, IV (Elizabeth Spence Smoot) of Reisterstown, MD and William T. Smoot (Teri Smoot) of Ponte Vedra, FL.; and his grandchildren, Caitlin Lee Swartz, Elizabeth Swartz Payne, Brielle Smoot Ferguson, Brandy Smoot Adkins and Hunter David Smoot. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
